Night Guards
Involuntary night-time teeth clenching is associated with many chronic headaches. This leads to hyperactivity of the trigeminal nerve, which could bring about tension headaches and migraines. Characterized by tightness surrounding the forehead, tension headaches are generally perceived on the sides of the head. They are generally described as a dull pressure that feels similar to a “vise grip” at the temples or the back of the neck and head.
A night guard is a small removable plastic resin personalized appliance which is worn over the teeth at nighttime to stop clenching and grinding.
The night guard can be used to cure:
- Migraine pain
- Tension-type headaches
- Jaw disorders (TMJ syndrome)
- Bruxism (teeth grinding)
